Area Activities
The White Buffalo Ranch is located in South Central Missouri Ozarks near the Gasconade River and along the Mark Twain National Forest. With over a million acres of public forest land, a great winding river and fun towns close by you have endless activity options.
Gasconade River
The Gasconade River is great for canoe or kayak floating and fishing.
River Floating & Canoeing
The White Buffalo Ranch is located within a short distance of three great rivers for canoeing or kayaking. The Gasconade, Niangua and Osage Fork Rivers are all great floating options. There are several put-in points along the rivers located near the White Buffalo Ranch, with one of closes being the Anna Adams access along the Gasconade River. If you need to rent canoes or other equipment we can offer recommendations for local river outfitters.
Fishing
Bring your own fishing gear to cast a line in the nearby rivers or fish for world-class Trout at Bennett Springs State Park. Bass, catfish and suckers are all native to the rivers and can be plentiful during various parts of the year.
Hunting
The White Buffalo Ranch is located along the Mark Twain National Forest, one of Missouri’s best hunting locations. With over 1.4 million acres of land open for public hunting, the White Buffalo Ranch is the perfect base camp for your hunting retreat. Lebanon I-44 Speedway

Ft. Leonard Wood Military Base & Museum
A short distance from the White Buffalo Ranch is one of the nation’s largest military bases, Fort Leonard Wood. Here you will find a free museum, open to the public. The U.S. Army Engineer Museum offers a variety of gallery displays including: WWII temporary mobilization buildings, the development of American Army engineering equipment, topographic engineering, landmine warfare, tactical bridging, special weapons, and much more.
Branson, Missouri
One of the Midwest’s favorite tourist destinations also makes a great day trip from the White Buffalo Ranch. Branson, Missouri is located about two hours from Falcon, Missouri. Enjoy the live shows, museums and shopping that Branson has to offer during your retreat at the ranch.
Route 66
Historic Route 66 runs near The White Buffalo Ranch. You can discover the magic and history that was Route 66 during your visit.
Springfield, Missouri
About an hour from the White Buffalo Ranch is Springfield, Missouri. We suggest taking the short trip to Springfield to visit Bass Pro Shop or take in a Springfield Cardinals Baseball game.
Lebanon, Missouri
A short drive from Falcon, Missouri is Lebanon. Here you’ll find restaurants and shopping. One particular stop our guests enjoy is the Cackle Hatchery. Here over 190 varieties of poultry are hatched and you can have quite the experience by just stopping by.
Caves
Missouri, long known as the “Cave State,” has almost 6,400 caves and Missouri state parks showcases four of the best for public tours. Caves located closest to the White Buffalo Ranch are Bridal Cave and Ozark Caverns.
Wild Animal Safari
If you’re planning to visit Springfield or Branson, along the way stop at Wild Animal Safari in Strafford. Wild Animal Safari is a drive-thru animal park. You can choose to take on our Wild Animal Safari from the comfort of your own vehicle or you can choose to take the complimentary bus tour that is led by an Animal Safari tour guide. Wild Animal Safari has over 70 different species, adding up to over 750 Animals!
Ha Ha Tonka State Park
Imposing architecture and breathtaking scenery combine to make Ha Ha Tonka State Park one of Missouri’s most treasured spots. Located on the Lake of the Ozarks, the park features the stone ruins of a turn-of-the-20th-century castle built by a prominent Kansas City businessman high atop a bluff. More than 15 miles of trails traverse the park, leading visitors to sinkholes, natural bridges, caves and down to the lake.
Baker Creek Pioneer Village
Come and enjoy the beautiful Ozark hills and our seed farm at the Baker Creek Pioneer Village; shop for seeds; see their trial gardens, learn about seed growing, enjoy our animals and authentic pioneer village. Eat lunch at our restaurant that is open 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m Monday through Friday. (Restaurant winter hours are Friday only.) The village is open Sunday through Friday from 8am until 4pm.
